Das AIT Austrian Institute of Technology ist das österreichische Forschungsinstitut von europäischem Format, das sich mit den zentralen Infrastrukturthemen der Zukunft beschäftigt. Aufgabe des AIT ist es an zukunftsweisenden Technologien und Methoden in den Bereichen Energy, Mobility, Health & Environment, Safety & Security sowie Foresight & Policy Development zu forschen und damit der thematisch fokussierten Industrie und Auftraggebern aus öffentlichen Institutionen die Innovationen von morgen zu ermöglichen. Gesundheit und Umwelt sind entscheidend für unsere Lebensqualität. Wissenschaft, Gesellschaft und Politik legen daher höchste Priorität auf den Schutz dieser wertvollen Güter, um die künftigen Herausforderungen zu bewältigen, die sich aus der Verknappung der Umweltressourcen und dem demographischen Wandel hin zu einer alternden Gesellschaft ergeben. Das Health & Environment Department stellt sich diesen Herausforderungen durch die Entwicklung neuer molekularer Sensortechnologien für die Wirtschaft und die öffentliche Hand: Molekulare Sensortechnologien. Hochpräzise experimentelle Werkzeuge, die Analysen bis zur molekularen Ebene und den Nanometerbereich erlauben, gelten als Schlüsseltechnologien der modernen Forschung. Wir haben daher in den vergangenen Jahren hochempfindliche molekulare Sensortechnologien entwickelt, die nun als Hightech-Plattformen für Anwendungen in den Bereichen Gesundheit und Umwelt zur Verfügung stehen.

The Austrian Institute of Technology takes a leading position in the Austrian innovation system and a key role in Europe as the RTO focusing on the key infrastructure topics of the future. AIT provides research and technological development to realise innovations for the next generation of infrastructure related technologies in the fields of energy, mobility, health & environment and safety & security, supplemented by foresight and policy development. Health and natural resources are essential for our quality of life. Science, society and politics have recognised the importance of protecting these valuable assets in meeting the challenges presented by a future shortage of environmental resources and the demographic development towards an aging society. The Health & Environment Department addresses these challenges by developing new molecular sensing technologies for industry and public administration.
Molecular Sensing Technologies
Precise experimental tools for analysis down to the molecular and nanometre level provide key technologies for modern research. Over the past few years we have been developing highly sensitive molecular sensing technologies that now form hi-tech platforms for applications both in the field of human health and environmental resources.
