KIRAS Security Research

Instruments

The Austrian security research programme KIRAS implements three mutually complementary instruments. They range from probing actions to cooperative research and innovation projects and R&D support actions.

Probing Action

„Probing Actions“ are used to assess innovative high-risk project ideas on their feasibility and implementation potential.

„Cooperative Research and Innovation Projects“

The goal of the cooperative research and innovation projects with a focus on "Industrial Research" is the creation and reinforcement of skill in research, technology and cooperation by funding strategically relevant cooperative R&D projects.
The goal of the cooperative research and innovation projects with a focus on "Experimental Development" is to transform the results of "Industrial Research" projects into demonstration and application activities.

„R&D- Support Actions“

Studies and comparable concepts are funded within this instrument. Main target groups are end-users in a broad sense.
