M²DynS

The M²DynS project aims to prevent failures in energy supply facilities by providing security-related detections and by ensuring operational safety

Protecting critical infrastructure is of vital security-related interest on a national and an European level. With a high degree of cross-linking in energy supply infrastructure and the thus resulting complexity, a malfunction in a particular part of the system can trigger a chain reaction and lead to unpredictable consequences.

Therefore, the M²DynS project aims to prevent such failures in energy supply facilities by providing security-related detections and by ensuring operational safety.

A multimodal sensor system has been implemented during the project M²DynS for protection and surveillance of particular facilities of energy supply. Video sensors for the visible and non-visible domain, acoustic sensors and special algorithms for object detection and tracking with pan-tilt-zoom(PTZ) cameras will be deployed. The system has been embedded in an existing service-oriented architecture. Practical trials ensure the system comply with recent security requirements and can be realized in an industrial sense.
