Study for digital forensics

Computers are nowadays indispensable tools in our professional and private lives, hence digital forensics are becoming increasingly important for investigations of any kind. People leave a plethora of digital traces in many different locations. The goal of this KIRAS study is to address essential questions concerning:

  • the existence of judicial guidelines and de facto implementation of standards for digital evidence,
  • the linkage of different data sources in order to increase the reliability of statements,
  • and the possible appliance of  the NIST Guide to Integrating Forensic Techniques into Incident Response (SP-800-86) in Austria.

Duration: 01.01.2010 - 31.03.2012
