The SimRad.COMP project had the goal of implementing new methods of civil protection by technical solutions based on Information and Communication Technologies in order to provide a system which can assess the operational fitness of such methods. It enables the simulation of disasters and the realistic training of crisis situations using components, which can be regarded as preliminary stages for prototypes of devices for optimized and effective disaster management.

SimRad.COMP supplies thereby a IT-based command and control system, which increases and evaluates the effectiveness and co-operational ability of emergency response units.

SimRad.COMP shows how new technologies, simulation method, and automated decision methods can be used in disaster management and demonstrates the added value for emergency organizations.
