Resilience Enhancement by Advanced Communication for Team Austria
The main objective of the KIRAS project “Resilience Enhancement by Advanced Communication for Team Austria” (RE-ACTA) is to leverage the person-power of the pre-registered volunteers during all crisis and disaster management phases.
The innovative RE-ACTA crowd tasking approach utilizes the fast growing social and new media community for task execution in crisis and disaster management. It provides modern communication tools like mobile device applications to volunteer groups.
RE-ACTA deals with the design of this crowd tasking process to enable an efficient workflow management between professional organizations and loosely coupled, non-trained volunteers. Moreover, the task assignment takes pre-defined user skills and residence information as well as current position data into account and allows an optimal volunteer selection of the entire crowd. Thus, also legal, privacy and liability aspects have to be discussed upfront. This outcome together with gathered user requirements and community acceptance criteria forms the basis for the crowd tasking process design and the proof-of-concept demonstrator.
Finally, the crowd tasking process will be evaluated in two selected crisis and disaster management scenarios to validate the applicability of the scientific methodology in the real life environment.
